The Body Wrap: Body Contouring Treatment

A Step by Step Guide

This is a compression wrap done with cellophane and Wrapping Cream to bring circulation to areas that have a build up of waste and do not have a lot of stimulation. This treatment can conveniently be done in any treatment room with a massage table or facial bed and does not require a shower.

Bodies carry weight in 2 different ways. The person may be heavy in the middle, from the shoulders to the buttocks, or heavy from the waist down through thighs. This is a service that must be done in a series and is supported by homecare products. Our Tu'eL Body Care Products are specifically formulated to compliment body treatments.

The service is designed to detoxify the body and lose inches. Although client's focus is on inch loss, we find it detracts from the purpose of the service, which is detoxification. For a permanent body change, detoxification is most important.

This treatment is designed to rid the body of toxins. If there are no changes in eating and exercise patterns, the changes that occur during this series are temporary. Providing wrap treatments on a regular basis, like the spring and summer months, may help your client maintain a good level of detoxification and inch loss. This is perfect for months of the year that clients want to show their legs, upper arms, and midsection.

Products

• Relaxing Essential Oil • Simulating Body Mask • Wrapping Cream • Peeling Cream* or Pumice Gloves*

• Medical Gloves • Medical Scissors • Inexpensive cellophane

• A portable table or tray for your products • Disposable G-Strings*

*Optional Items • (Do not wrap your client naked. Some of these products may be too stimulating for sensitive areas!)

When Booking the Appointment

Ask the client to avoid heavy meals before and after treatment. It is important that the client has no caffeine or alcohol before or after this treatment.

Bed & Table Set Up

Put a doubled sheet down (flannel is best) on the bed/massage table. Also have something for under their knees and neck.

Mix your product: 1 to 1.5  ounces of Wrapping Cream, 3 pumps of Stimulating Body Mask and 5 drops of Relaxing Essential Oil in a small bowl.  For all first time clients, use 0 to 3 pumps of the Stimulating Body Mask. You may increase the Stimulating Body Mask as the client builds a tolerance to the niacinamide.

Procedure

1. Ask the client if they would like to use the restroom. The service will last 50-60 minutes and this is the only chance they will have to use it.

2. Have the client fill out the Body Contouring Questionnaire.

3. Have the client stand with palms together in front of chest with fingers upward and elbows out.

4. If you are going to measure, do so now. Be sure to mark their front, back and sides. Better marking makes for better accuracy later on.

5. Optional Step: Use Peeling Cream on problem areas, front and back. Apply a small amount, wet fingertips, massage briefly. Remove with damp washcloth. You can also dry scrub with pumice gloves. This enhances better absorption during the wrapping process.
6. With gloves on, apply cream evenly to body. Cover legs, stomach, back and upper arms. Gently knuckle problem areas. Do not be rough.

7. Wrap client with cellophane.
  • Start at waist level and have your client hold the cellophane in the center of their stomach. Go from the back toward the front, through legs, then up the buttocks. Be sure to have the client bend their legs slightly to keep the cellophane from cutting off circulation at the knee. Fan down each time to end up at the ankle. Be sure to keep it even without a lot of gaps.
  • Turn plastic around and do inner thigh. Angle the plastic at base of leg and push up as you go through the leg. Do that about 3 times and continue down the leg to the ankle.
  • Repeat same process on other leg.
  • Wrap waist, buttocks, thigh, ribs, back and bust. Do not put any pressure over bust. Band by holding the cellophane horizontal to create more pressure on problem areas.
  • Wrap arms loosely at the top.
8. Help client lay down. Place support under their knees and a small roll under their neck. If the client feels that they are having a hard time breathing you can cut the cellophane between their breasts from the top down.

9. If this is their first wrap, do not go far from them. It usually takes one wrap to get used to the feeling. After that, it is very relaxing.

10. Be sure to tuck them in and ask if  they are comfortable. Client will remain on the table for 40 minutes.

11. Cut them out of the wrap, remove the cellophane and rub in excess product. Do not rinse off, showering is not necessary.

12. Help them sit up and give them a glass of water.

13. Be sure to sell your clients the Tu'eL Reduction Cream, Detox Bath Gel, and Body Tonic for daily home use as it helps them achieve faster results.

14. Sell them a series of 6 treatments, preferably 1 per week. Some clients may need additional series. If your client is preparing for a special event and doesn't have 6 weeks, you can perform 2 to 3 wraps in one  week and see visible changes that last for a short time. Our experience has shown a loss of 2 pants or 2 dress sizes in a short time. This is extremely motivating for clients.
